Florida Governor Rick Scott spent Friday, January 11, 2013, on a work day with Goya Foods, stocking shelves at Sedano’s on Bird Rd. at SW 87th Ave. It was a return to his roots – he worked in a grocery store as a kid.
Autism Speaks and IMUSA recognized the Sedano's store that raised the most funds during the 2011 campaign. In total, Sedano's stores raised $50,000 that will help fund Autism Speaks' programs that support research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism.
Sedano's Supermarkets partnered with the Latin Chamber of Commerce of USA (CAMACOL) to help feed more than 50,000 needy families. Sedano's donated more than 20 items to each benefitting family to make sure they had a meal on Christmas day.
More than 10,000 community members and leaders, including Miami-Dade County Commissioner Javier Souto, joined the Herrán and Guerra families, as they visited and shopped at the new 40,000 square foot store, located on 8601 Bird Road, Miami, FL 33155
Sedano's Supermarkets, in partnership with Gloria and Emilio Estefan and Bongo's Cuban Cafe, fed 1,500 South Florida community members and families in need from three local charities on Thanksgiving Day.
